It truly is a sad day for the trap community. After releasing an award winning self-titled EP, being featured on Kanye West’s latest studio album, and garnishing support from many corners within the music landscape,
Hudson Mohawke and
Lunice have decided to take a break from the revolutionary
TNGHT sound to focus on their individual careers. The producers released a short montage of recent TNGHT concerts entitled “Waning Moon,” which features soft whale noises rather than the hard-hitting beats you may come to expect from a
LuckyMe-supported video. Referring to the group’s crescent moon shaped logo, the title speaks to the fading project, and the group’s Facebook page shows only a dimmed version of the logo.
On the brighter side, a waning moon only means that a waxing one is on the horizon. How long it will be until we see the duo together once again is unknown, but TNGHT gives fans a hopeful message regarding the future of the project via social media: “Until next time.” Thank you TNGHT, you will be missed.
