Weekend Rewind: Angger Dimas's debut single 'Duck Army'

In a dance music world where bleeps and bloops often reign supreme, there’s always been one name that this writer holds as a consistent favorite. Once described by Hardwell as “… the first DJ, besides the Dutch DJs, who’s supported by the Dutch DJs,” Angger Dimas’s skill behind the decks can only be matched by his creativity in the studio. In 2009, Vicious Recordings signed the Jakartan prodigy’s debut single “Duck Army”, and has since bloomed into something… electrifying. An expert around a drum rack, Angger builds on grooving and shuffling percussive arrangements, bringing an old school vibe to a modern Dutch-dominated sound. The extra, detailed synth automation gives this absolutely contagious tune added dimension and character. Angger has come a long way, experimenting with different electro styles in recent years and becoming a staple on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak team. If there’s any artist that keeps me on my toes for new material, it’s 100% this guy.
