Brighton indie dance legend Thomas Gandey is back on the trail for 2014 with his prized Cagedbaby moniker primed for modern dance floor justice. Having remixed X-Press 2’s “London Express” back in 2008, the French talent returns to Skint Records to drop a firm reminder of just why Fatboy Slim and the higher sects of the industry have been lapping up everything the Bordeaux-based producer has thrown down to date. Built around subtle instrumental builds and dialed back vocal samples, “That’s The Trouble” is a tightly woven cut from the very first beat. As its fluid keys and slick grooves carry things forward, there is little questioning that for all his time on beat, Gandey certainly hasn’t lost his immediate studio appeal and stunning instrumental forte.
