Much of the EDM community has a pretty specific preconceived notion when one utters the phrase “Dutch house.” One of the granddaddies of them all, Laidback Luke, who heavily contributed to shape this paradigm takes a step back from his signature style in his next collab. The dance music legend tweeted early this afternoon that he’s “bringing back the melodies on this one!” and turns out has teamed up with Canadian breakout duo Project 46 to share the magic. “Collide” features Collin Mcloughlin’s lovestruck voice, which sounds as smooth as the instrumental’s melody itself. This tune’s definitely atypical of LBL’s collection of dance floor killers, but is right up Project 46’s progressive ally. Out on Mixmash Records on January 27th.
