Daft Punk finished their Grammy sweep in style, taking home album of the year in all-white robot gear, but other electronic victories came and went before the award show was even broadcasted live. Zedd ‘s win of Best Dance Recording for “Clarity” was the most notable pre-televised award in electronic music in addition to Cedric Gervais’s win for Best Remixed Recording. Luckily, an audience member caught Zedd’s big moment.
“I’m a little unprepared for this moment,” uttered Zedd, next to an even more unprepared Foxes. Both artists, although taken by surprise, accepted their award gratefully. And by the time the honor sank in, Zedd acknowledged six-time Grammy Award winner Skrillex and even dedicated the award to him.
“I want to say a really big thank you to a really good friend of mine, Skrillex, who’s sitting there with us. He was one of the first people in the industry that believed in me and gave me the oppurtunity, and we share the same team. Thank you very much, you’re one of my best friends, this is for you.”
