Last fall, a duo of Australia’s premier talents made up of Chet Faker and Flume partnered to create their EP Lockjaw that fused the two sounds for three magical tracks. In the wake of a new year, Chet Faker seeks to define his own solo sound with an announcement of an upcoming debut album. From Downtown Records, Built On Glass is set to showcase Faker’s undeniably smooth vocals interlaced with tranquil electronic soundscapes. Though the album won’t receive an official release until April 25th, Faker has revealed his first debut single, “Talk Is Cheap” as an unmistakable preview of what is to come. Just in time for the eager welcoming of spring, jazzy undertones of “Talk Is Cheap” bring warmth to the tune and guide the downtempo beats into the singer’s strikingly raw vocal chorus lines.
