After receiving a happy house edit from The Magician and some slinky synth styling from Le Youth, Chromeo‘s “Come Alive” with Toro Y Moi has undergone an arpeggiated makeover at the hands of Grum. Unlike his predecessors, the UK nu-disco proponent added a heavy dose of progressive to the house, sending the original vocals soaring over the stratosphere with twinkling tones before being blotted out by an ambitious beat. Coming in at just under 8 minutes, Grum’s remix is more like an odyssey only loosely based on the original, but with his touch Chromeo’s quirk is transformed into something more quixotic.
