Of all the couplings to have blessed British dance music over the past several years, Jason Chance and Kevin Andrews haven proven one of the most consistent house contenders. The duo last locked creative horns for 1605 groover “Work The Track,” yet now take things up a peg for Toolroom‘s annual Miami compilation with a collaborative debut that maintains the notion that their tracks keep getting stronger.

“Krin” falls in a somewhat techier domain than that which we have come to expect from Chance to date, but the gradual transition has certainly asserted a similar dexterity to that of Hoxton Whores-counterpart Andrews. It grooves, builds and packs with impressive stamina, using an infectious interior to show a notably focused take on the genre during its period of confusing scrutiny from the press and tastemakers alike. Toolroom Records have a lot of different genres and talents under their belt right now — some more persuasive than others. If “Krin” is anything to go by, Mark Knight’s army certainly hasn’t lost its appetite for a top-shelf house cut or two.
