Watch This: Disclosure covers Sticky & Ms. Dynamite’s ‘Booo!’ on BBC’s Live Lounge
Want to know one of Disclosure’s favorite tunes? If you paid attention to BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge this morning, you already would. The Lawrence brothers performed their single “White Noise” with AlunaGeorge’s Aluna Francis on air, followed by a cover of Sticky & Ms. Dynamite’s 2001 UK garage underground hit “Booo!” Joined by Ms. Dynamite herself, the young nominees for the Brit Awards’ British Breakthrough Act truly put their own spin on this classic. They noticeably saturate the drum work to modernize the track and further revive the genre while swapping the original’s signature subby chorus with a dark, pumping synth. It’s one thing to appreciate their mastered final records, but Disclosure’s raw, live performances are on another level.
