Weekend Rewind: Benny Benassi’s remix of Public Enemy’s ‘Bring The Noise’

Iconic Italian DJ Benny Benassi helped pave the way for many of today’s producers listening and transitioning from house to electro. In 2007, the Milanese native sped down a classic hip-hop record from 1987 by the legendary Long Island-based rap group Public Enemy. Benassi’s S-faction remix of “Bring the Noise” caught on and won a Grammy for best remixed recording in 2008. I decided to dedicate this Weekend Rewind to the alternate Pump-kin remix, because it was a tune that helped me acquire a further appreciation for dance music before I found my early tastes. The adaptation of a classic of my then-undisputed favorite genre mixed with a pumping club vibe and sinister gliding melody became too addictive not to throw on during every pregame in school. Great, great times.
