deadmau5’s new album is ‘ready to f**king go’
After finishing his album in January, the world has been patiently awaiting the release of deadmau5‘s storied seventh studio album: a 25-track, two disc affair. In a recent interview with inthemix, Zimmerman dished some exciting news in regards to the release, most notably the fact that he’s hoping it will be out this April. With a hint of urgency in his tone, Joel said: “I have the digital masters ready to fucking go.”
Speaking on the type of tracks on the album, Joel explained to the Australian dance outlet: “I’m confident that there’s enough fresh stuff on there that it’s going to attract new fans. That’s kind of the play here – not do a continuation of what I’ve been doing for the last four albums; that’s just stupid.”
Just as past originals like “Ghosts N Stuff, “The Veldt,” and “Professional Griefers” have served as a bridge to new fans, deadmau5 plans to employ a similar strategy on the new album: “There’s a couple of tracks on there that are quite radio-friendly, not even dance music, that I’m going to put out as singles just to attract that kind of shit. So it’s a long-game strategy at this point.”
