Sirius XM Day 1: Tiësto’s Club Life Takes Over

Sirius XM Kicks Off Miami Music Week

Sirius XM Kicks off Miami Music Week

Sirius XM continues another year of its flagship event, their Sirius XM Miami Music Week Lounge. Tucked away in the comforting and beautiful corner of the W Hotel in the North corner of South Beach, the lounge continues to house the most star power in one location, usually sporting multiple DJ’s on the decks at all moments. With intimate artist interviews, live sets, and surprise appearances from DJs, this remains the event to check out year after year.

We begin the tour of day 1: Tiësto’s trademark Club Life party.

Seven Lions Kicks the Party Off

In the midst of headlining his own 2014 tour, Seven Lions stopped by Sirius to dish out his own version of bass music spanning mid tempo, house, to trance-like offerings. With the much upbeat and frenetic Club Life music fare to follow, Seven Lions gave us all a chance to breathe and relax early in the afternoon, especially those of us still fighting the party hangover from the previous night.

Afrojack Makes an Appearance

Look who it is.

The Dutch superstar joins his fellow country man on the decks, a symbolic show of unity as one mainstay in the scene joined the stage with the up and coming star. Playing their new track for the crowd, the two look like the best of friends, bouncing conversation off of each other, slapping fives, and all smiles.

Something tells us this won’t be their last collaboration.

Carnage + Martin Garrix

While their roots do not stretch as closely and as far back as the Dutchman’s, the picture of these two sharing the stage is not a common one. Both were relative unknowns a year ago, and this shot perfectly sums up the meteoric rise in both their careers. With Garrix’s electro style and the self proclaimed Chipotle king’s festival trap at his side, this shot is one that you likely can’t find anywhere else.

Other than the Sirius XM lounge, of course.

Tiesto, Reloaded

With his health scare earlier in the week, the dance world was unsure how Tiësto would recover with Miami Music Week so close. The legend put all fears to rest, showing up with all smiles and jokes. A welcome sight to see, the Dutch king of dance music seemed ready for the week ahead, matching the youngster’s energies.

Why did we ever doubt him again?

Club Life

By the time Tiesto’s closing set came around, the crowd was in a full frenzy – drunk from the star wattage on display for the past few hours. With Tiësto’s crowd favorite ‘Red Lights’ leading the way, the audience was rocking the intimate venue – all soaking in the experience that is Tiësto’s Club Life.

Not bad for a Wednesday.
