Within the progressive house genre there is a distinct line between those who make the sound of the moment and those who take the meaning of “progressive” to heart. Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano fall into the latter camp with their latest track, a forthcoming DOORN release made with the help of violinist Miri Ben-Ari. Perhaps best known for her work on Armin van Buuren’s “Intense,” Ben-Ari brings the same soulful stringing to this more festival-primed outing. The pair choose to highlight the orchestral element in its own solo bridge, drawing the original melody back in an almost trance-like fashion before quickly surrounding the synths with all the fixings of a build. An affirmative step forward for a pair already known for being ahead of the game, “One Life” will hit shelves in late April.
