From suddenly breaking unknown artists to launching additional aliases and strategically releasing IDs, mystery has been a growing theme in the dance music community as of late. Not many newcomers have been more mysterious than Tchami, who’s exploded onto the scene with a unique, resonant “future house” vision. The Parisian producer’s latest Spinnin’ Records preview, “Untrue,” pushes the already booming sound that has set him apart from others. The song’s deep, grunting bassline and atmospheric vocal sample combine for a stunningly groovy yet moody vibe. The progression further builds with a vibrant layer and shuffling percussion that make the anticipation for a full listen tough to bear. Though not much information is available on the arcane Tchami, we do happen to know he makes sweet, sweet music.
