Tim Mason – Starlight (Original Mix)
Since breaching the through into the industry’s sights with Miami favorite “The Moment” some three years ago, the studio work of Tim Mason has followed at staggered intervals, but to a hero’s welcome. Now, the Brighton-based talent makes his debut stint for Spinnin Records with “Starlight,” fuelling the road to summer with his first original release “Swoon” for Size Records back in the earlier remits of 2013. Whilst Mason has proven a welcome asset to Angello’s infamous imprint, a change of scene does the sparing studio force no injustice. “Starlight” plays with sophisticated melodies and journey-like resonance throughout, enough so to inherit the progressive house epithet without too much of the nihilist attitudes now facing the coinage of the sub-genre. This could well be one of Tim Mason’s finest studio moments to date, opening the clouds to a more promising year ahead than we may have expected in the first instance from this sparing yet consistently on-point producer.
