Big Beat/OWSLA favorite Alex Metric is teaming up with Fool’s Gold duo Oliver once more, this time to deliver another colorful homage to disco called “Galaxy.” Recently, the three producers came together to tow the line between vintage funk sounds and modern electro house with “Hope,” using samples from the iconic 1970’s tune by the same name.

This time around, the collaborators each lend distinct styling elements to their newest material, maintaining a hip swinging nu-disco rhythm, leaving most of the track’s appeal to it’s groovy instrumental flow with a few samples sprinkled throughout. Metric and Oliver’s “Galaxy” is a long form bout that instantly grips the listener with a throbbing bass line and a tasty drum breakdown. Then upbeat piano layers are matched with whirling synth arrangements, along with a few sharp robotic vocal cuts give the track an irresistible bop.

Mashing together fresh tech house elements with a classic disco sensuality, Alex Metric and Oliver offer up an intergalactic blast with “Galaxy.” And be sure to be on the lookout for Metric’s Hope EP, slated to be released via Big Beat/OWSLA later this month.
