Audien – Hindsight (Original Mix)

Now that a pair of major festivals are in the books — Ultra and Coachella — crowd pleasers and fan favorites are emerging from the over-saturated deluge of potential summer mainstays. Thus far, it’s Audien‘s remix of Bastille’s “Pompeii” that reigns supreme as this season’s go-to hit, and while that should remain steady throughout summer, the producer hits from another angle, this time with an original production.

Returning to his roots at Anjunabeats, ones planted with his solo breakthrough of “Wayfarer,” the consistent-on-all-fronts artist executes with the same fortitude that put his score on the board back in late 2012. On “Hindsight,” this time around, Audien presents his flag-carrying handling of melodies in a more finely tuned and polished taste. Whereas his sound was defined as progressive trance upon his debut, he delivers that insignia in such a way that tip-toes around being limited by definition while still remaining true to his sound.
