Beats Music overtakes Pandora and Spotify as most downloaded iTunes music app
Beats Music recently gave listeners the ability to buy subscriptions to the service within the iOS app and has since skyrocketed up the iTunes music charts. Currently, Beats sits above Pandora, Spotify, and SoundCloud as the most downloaded app in the music category in iTunes and is the fifth most downloaded app overall. With the music streaming service competition heating up, Beats has been aggressively testing ways to increase its user base and those willing to pay the subscription fee for the premium service. As Beats Music continues to expand its influence in the streaming service game, the expectations for the platform and its relevance in the market have grown in kind. The company has recently created a partnership with AT&T to distribute free 30-day and 90-day trials to the carrier’s customers and has allowed listeners to directly subscribe to Beats via the iOS app after their free 7-day trial has ended.
In the war of streaming sound, it seems that the new app on the block has all the right ingredients to be the next big disruptor in the music industry.
