Martin Garrix goes platinum in the US as ‘Animals’ digital sales soar over one million

Coming into Ultra Music Festival as the toast of Miami Music Week and leaving as a Main Stage marvel, Martin Garrix found the cherry to top the seemingly never-ending acclaim for his signature hit. The accolades for Martin and “Animals” have piled high since bubbling early last summer: Garrix instantly became the youngest artist to top Beatport charts with a solo production, the track hit number one in the UK along with a handful of notable rankings internationally, and went on to topple Darude’s 2001 “Sandstorm” in Top 40 radio.

It’s most recent honor, and likely its most impressive, comes with one million reasons to celebrate Martin Garrix. Only weeks after scoring three IDMAs at this year’s Winter Music Conference, “Animals” has gone platinum; its digital sales alone have soared above the 1,000,000 mark while its global total ranges above 1.5M.
