In response to local concerns Wavefront moves to new location

2013’s installment of Wavefront left local residents unhappy as government officials told the festival organizers that they need to fix their noise and traffic problems or move the lakefront festival elsewhere. Last year, the festival took place in the 46th ward in Uptown at Montrose Avenue Beach and, assuming all the paperwork clears, Wavefront’s 2014 festival will be held on 31st Street Beach (3100 Lake Shore Drive) during July 4th weekend. The new location is further down the coast, moving the festival away from the nearby communities who were unhappy with last year’s noise and traffic issues.

In addition to the relocation, 4 Headed Productions has been working with the city Alderman to ensure that extra measures are being taken to prevent any neighborhood disturbances and although recent reports from DNAInfo allude to uncertainty, the festival seems more than likely to return to Chicago’s coastline.
