SFX acquires TMWRK, The Meta Agency and Learned Evolution, expands reach into artist management and creative agencies

Robert Sillerman’s SFX Entertainment continues to expand its sphere of influence with another string of acquisitions. TMWRK, The Meta Agency and Learned Evolution have all joined the SFX family, further expanding the EDM conglomerate into the artist management and creative sectors of the dance music industry. These acquisitions aim to enhance the role of previously acquired FX-1, SFX’s in-house marketing platform for artists and brands.

Robert FX Sillerman, Chairman and CEO of SFX Entertainment, commented, “FX-1 represents our vision to bring a full-service solution to our creative partners and our fans. EMC is the highly personal language of the millennial generation. By bringing together these talented people and their capabilities, SFX can now help artists, producers, labels and companies connect in the most authentic and helpful way. TMWRK adds career development expertise for those desiring that assistance. The Meta Agency and Learned Evolution give us an extraordinary level of creative design talent to support any development effort imaginable.”

While The Meta Agency and Learned Evolution will provide digital branding, marketing and creative solutions to SFX’s numerous endeavors, the acquisition of TMWRK management is the most intriguing news to come out of Sillerman’s camp since their initial acquisition of ID&T. Currently representing Diplo, A-Trak, Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus, Claude VonStroke and many more, SFX’s foray into artist management is bound to raise some interesting questions and cause an uproar from a fan base already apprehensive to accept SFX’s dominant position in the culture. Will TMWRK artists still perform on non-SFX owned properties and stages? Andrew McInnes, CEO of TMWRK, doesn’t seem worried about a conflict of interest;

Andrew McInnes, CEO of TMWRK, added, “Partnering with SFX gives us more opportunities to help our artists grow in multiple ways. Kevin and I put our artists first. Our focus will continue to be on the music they make and provide an environment for their careers to grow in whichever creative path they choose to endeavor into. With this partnership and the universal commitment of everyone at SFX to maintain our artist-first commitment, this is a major opportunity for TMWRK and our artists.”
