DA Premiere: Jake Sgarlato delivers full length mix ahead of ‘Swing’
Steve Aoki‘s Dim Mak powerhouse is known for delivering some of the most in-your-face sounds out there. Label newcomer Jake Sgarlato, ahead of his forthcoming collaboration with Victor Niglio, “Swing,” has put together a mix that reflects the true spirit behind the records and the label’s well established larger-than-life sounds.
Leading the mix off, the California-based producer begins with his and Niglio’s upcoming tag-team effort. Matching spastic samples with a pounding, tribal beat and a tasty horn section, “Swing” sets the bar. The mix showcases a seamless weaving between bombastic big room drops and whirling, dutch-house synths, with a wild, deep-jungle underlying motif. Covering a range of material, all of which is meant for throbbing subwoofers, Jake Sgarlato introduces a handful of his own original productions from behind the decks, along with tunes from Carnage, Borgore, and Hardwell.
Unloading an arsenal of festival-primed originals and remixes, the nearly flawless mix represents this up and comer as a force to be reckoned with.
