StubHub has released a new concert discovery app called StubHub Music. The concept is based on pre-existing apps such as Bandsintown and Songkick, which lets users know when their favorite artists are coming to their area by scanning their music library. The new app is currently San Francisco-centric, but will be available shortly to all StubHub markets. StubHub Music customizes concert preferences for each individual user, alerting them when their favorite acts will perform in a city near them and allowing them to sync the dates via calendar or notifications within the app. Users can also share that data with friends, inviting them to purchase tickets through the app itself, which will feature its own direct ticket marketplace. The announcement of StubHub Music follows their announcement that they will produce their own concerts, becoming both a ticketing agent and live events company a la Live Nation and their subsidiary Ticketmaster.
