Avicii lists Jon Bon Jovi, System of a Down, Billie Joe Armstrong, Wyclef Jean and more as collaborations for new album

2013’s True broadened horizons for dance music and established Avicii as a clairvoyant ear for influences, collaborations, and sounds that the genre hadn’t yet explored. Just a few months shy of his album’s first anniversary, the Swedish producer juggles shows all across the world while still remaining hard at work in the studio for his next album.

Tim Bergling has already demonstrated a new direction for his upcoming catalogue with his unexpected but well received collaboration “A Sky Full of Stars” with Coldplay. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Avicii revealed several other unlikely partnerships to come on his followup album, including appearances from Jon Bon Jovi, Serj Tankian of System of a Down and Billie Joe Armstrong along with a duet between Wyclef Jean and Matisyahu.

Despite his totally divergent direction from many EDM names and sounds, Avicii is confident in his new direction. His still untitled album will be “more song-oriented,” and has yet to be cut from over 70 tracks that the producer continues to work on.
