D-Wayne is heating up accordingly with the progression of the summer. With a collaboration with Afrojack that made the cut for his debut album Forget The World, a residency with Beats Music, and a growing catalog of original material beneath his belt, the young producer/DJ counters this week with his latest work. Collaborating with Leon Bolier, the two find explosive chemistry that manifests for “Detonate.” Bolier, who comes off “Whirlpool” from Kindergarten Records joins D-Wayne at his Wall Recordings home base where he’s racked up singles from “Africa” to “X-Ray Vision.” The tag-team effort boasts a gritty yet eloquent introduction in warped synths and orchestral strings, though the early eminent moment is put on blast as testament to the track’s title. The detonation comes and goes, trading off with the distinguished builds for a double edged sword of an offering.
