Calvin Harris previews next single ‘Blame’ off upcoming album

The reigning highest-paid DJ in the world for a second straight year, Calvin Harris has been busy at work undertaking his fourth studio album scheduled to release this fall. Debuting his year with the poppy seasonal smash “Summer,” followed by the exotic big-room energy of “C.U.B.A.,” the accomplished dance-pop icon has yet again taken to Instagram to preview his next single returning to the vocal realms of dance. Announced in June, “Blame” embraces soulful English singer and musician John Newman instead of incorporating Harris’s own long-favored deep and rich voice.

Calvin Harris posted two separate Instagram clips this week showcasing different portions of “Blame”. The first presumably features John Newman’s vocal hook accompanied by a vibrant acoustic guitar progression that captures a warm, pop vibe with which Harris has excelled throughout his career. The second clip bears more characteristics of an intro or break through a blend of accented synth and acoustic plucks that usher in Newman’s stanza. “Blame” will be released on September 7th, before the anticipated album later this fall. Will Calvin Harris stick to his signature dance-pop stylings and further dominate radio airwaves, or will he pull a complete 180 and surprise us with something unexpected? Listen for yourself below.
