Dutch tunesmiths 16 Bit Lolitas and British imprint Anjunadeep have continued to blur beautiful musical lines since making with the Murder Weapon EP back in 2008. Six years stronger and just a short dash from the release of the label’s sixth compilation instalment, the follow-up to May’s warmly received Beat Organ EP comes in the form of just one solitary cut from the docile house contenders for the final stretch of summer.
Their ambient blend of easy grooving house music hits a new high for “Deep In My Soul,” spotlighting the duo’s immediately infectious and meticulously composed stamina with a track as reassuring of their own talent as it is telling of Anjunadeep’s musical mind-set in 2014. This is house music with soul, substance and style, setting 16 Bit Lolitas as undisputed masters of the genre’s calmer sound waves during its period of creative renaissance.
