What are deadmau5 and Eric Prydz up to?
There’s something brewing between deadmau5 and Eric Prydz, and it’s looking to be quite large. It all started back in March, when Zimmerman and Prydz teamed up for a mau5trap-Pryda night in Miami. Since then, the duo have scheduled two more performances, with the latest being a headlining slot at HARD Day of the Dead. To further inspire intrigue, Eric posted this photo to his social channels today:
‘Mau5-ville’ is a combination of Zimmerman’s label mau5trap and Prydz’s label Mouseville. It is especially interesting that this is Eric’s techno imprint — reserved for Cirez D releases — rather than his more well-known Pryda label. With deadmau5 reviving his love of minimal tech, from live sets to a release on Hawtin’s Plus 8 Records, it seems quite probable that the two are collaborating on some techno records. Of course, until an official announcement from either camp arrives, nothing is certain — but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited.
Is this the dawning of a new super-duo? We sure hope so.
