Jetlag feat. Esther – Walk With Me (Remixes)
“Romantic” may not be a word typically associated with deep house, but Anjunadeep is not a typical label. The North Star for tastemakers is again proving its status, this time by welcoming Belgian duo Jetlag to its roster with a remix package worthy of the adjective. Production pair Renato Marquez and Miguel Fernandez join the Anjuna family with debut single “Walk With Me,” a back-to-basics number marrying instrumentals, vocals and a simple synthetic beat. Between a fleeting guitar melody, demure reverberating piano, Renato’s own subtle violin and Esther’s earnest lyrics, the track takes on an honest quality lacking in the more commercial genres but persevering throughout the remixes. Anjunadeep regulars Martin Roth and Celsius were invited to play with their new labelmates’ tune, with the Berlin-based Roth further stripping it of layers while recalibrating the beat and the UK’s Celsius funking things up with a reimagining of Esther’s vocals, the inclusion of his own, and a more floor-ready BPM.
