The Knocks – Classic (feat. Powers)
Summer 2014 has been filled to the brim with amazing new music, so we never felt like we were missing out on anything. Then we heard the Knocks‘ new single “Classic” and realized that we’d been missing out on pretty much everything. In a letter to their fans, B-Roc and JPatt call the song “a summer tune,” which may qualify as the biggest understatement of the season. The instrumental is funky, poppy, and fun. Add in flawless vocals from POWERS‘ Crista Ru, and we’ve got one of the most special songs in quite some time. “Classic” may not be just about summer, but that doesn’t change the fact that we have no idea how we got through the last few months – much less any and all previous summers – without it.
