Merk & Kremont vs. Toby Green – Strike (Original Mix)
Merk & Kremont have been steady in their progressive house output, carefully dropping “Amen” with Size and “Anubi” with Revealed in 2014. Then there’s Toby Green, whose similar trajectory kicked off a handful of collaborations as kickstarted by “Hot Steppa” with Mike Hawkins and Henry Fong. This weekend, both entities surface in tandem with the release of “Strike” on Sander van Doorn’s streaking imprint. The production offers percussion to be marveled at and follows with spine-shattering electro-house that each team member is known for. Rather than your everyday drop, the climax of “Strike” resembles the shredding of a live guitar, only to be bolstered and juxtaposed by melodic undertones before returning to its rock n’ roll energy.
