Alex Metric‘s “Heart Weighs a Ton” is very nearly the perfect summer song, so it’s hard to imagine anyone equalling its splendor, much less improving upon it. Cassian definitely does the former, if not the latter. He eschews the original’s progressive components, opting to introduce calmer, more hypnotizing elements to the song rather than trying to match its dynamic big room vibe. Captivating percussion propels the track, and Stefan Storm‘s dazzling vocals provide an exciting constant between the remix and the original. Whether you prefer the initial “Heart Weighs a Ton” or Cassian’s take on the tune is simply a matter of preference; all that’s certain is that at least one of the two will blow you away.
