Dancing Astronaut presents Axis episode 121: Mixed by Pierce Fulton
Vermont’s own Pierce Fulton adds to an accomplished swell of next generation talents to have blessed the AXIS series here in 2014. A young artist whose musical playbook includes relentless electro house, progressively fuelled big room and mid-tempo electronica, the ascent of the North American talent has been a clear cut indicator of where not following the in-crowd can work exceedingly well within the modern market. Latest double A-side instalment “Kuaga” and “Noon Gun” added to a strong yet sparing run of releases for the New York based upstart, whilst remix duties for Above & Beyond’s “Sticky Fingers” indicated the caliber of attention now turned towards his quirky yet technical big room getup. Fulton is a masterful mash-up artist and his AXIS programming really says it all, using immediate crowd pleasers and a trio of homegrown fusions alongside his own accomplished material to really hit home the unique properties of his sound in a genuinely overcrowded musical space. Here lies 60-minutes of undisputable proof that Pierce Fulton is a rising talent like few other on the beat.
