The recent beef between Deadmau5 and Disney is nothing new. But the massive conglomerate’s relationship with the artist has changed drastically over the past two years. Back in 2012 deadmau5 joined Joe Rogan on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, and one of the obvious topics of discussion was the similarity between the Mau5head and Disney’s familiar mascot. “How does Disney not sue the dick off of you,” Rogan asked; “Me and Disney are cool now,” Joel responded, citing an event he played in Anaheim for the company. He also claims that Disney doesn’t have a problem with the mau5head at all, noting the obvious differences before mentioning the design patents he filed for his logo copyrights in different countries.

It only took 2 years, but it looks like Disney may have had a serious change of heart after seeing Deadmau5’s monumental success.
