Beatport acquires Listn in seven-figure deal
After a summer in which a new President of Beatport was brought in to take over for Mathew Adell, the biggest electronic music retail platform has announced a new acquisition. With the purchase of Los Angeles-based music social network Listn, the SFX Entertainment property has looked to add a social aspect to their already established platform. Although financial details were kept under wraps, the CEO of Listn said the deal was worth seven figures. An all encompassing application that lets users connect to services like Youtube, Soundcloud, and Spotify among others, the social media aspect arrives courtesy of the ability to share playlists, favorite songs, and explore new music via your social network.
