Diplo shares new remix of Zola Jesus’s ‘Go (Blank Sea)’
Diplo has been on fire as of late with the release of “Everyday” for free, a killer, two hour hip-hop mix for BBC, and growing his Jack Ü moniker with Skrillex to unprecedented levels. Not to mention, he’s also just re-released Florida, the album that put him on the map back in 2004. Somehow, amidst everything that’s going on for the man behind Mad Decent, Mr. Pentz still found some time to remix Zola Jesus’ soulful jam, “Go (Blank Sea).” As the California based producer said himself, this one sounds like “hot lava rocks in a bucket.” If that’s his way of saying he spun the song into a smoothly trap-infused edit that still maintains Zola’s ethereal vocals, then consider this phrasing right on the money.
