K-pop star CL to work with Diplo
K-pop star CL and producer Diplo teamed up for a headline-making collaborative performance at the 2014 Style Icon Awards in Seoul. It was a taste of what promises to be a pretty sweet partnership for CL, who seems poised to take the US market by storm. It shouldn’t be too difficult now that she has a world-class producer behind her. The leader of the wildly popular Korean pop group 2NE1, CL performed her own solo tune ‘MTBD’ before seamlessly transitioning into Diplo’s monster hit from last year, ‘Revolution.’ The closing track of the performance was a teaser of her new track ‘Dirty Vibe,’ which she co-authored with Diplo, Skrillex and G-Dragon.
During the award ceremony the 23-year-old expressed her admiration for Diplo, who she hopes will become her mentor in the US market.
“I think I’m going to work a lot with Diplo,” she said quite adorably during the SIA event. “He’s so cool and good looking.”
