Saying the VIP remix of Rustie‘s “Lost” is better or worse than the original would be like comparing apples to oranges (pardon the cliche). Fans of the more deliberate, down-tempo original might find the heavy bass drops and choppy editing of the remix a bit too jarring and forced for easy listening. Newsflash: it isn’t meant for easy listening. Those whom the the original left itching for a bit more energy will be pleased to hear an edit with the potential to set off a big room club. Each offers a unique sound and experience, and we advise listeners not to make comparisons that wouldn’t be fair in the first place. We applaud the young Scottish producer’s attempt at showcasing a versatile skill set – we think he nailed it.
