‘Taking a break was the absolute best thing I’ve done;’ Avicii breaks silence on health concerns

With an extremely publicized dropout from Ultra Music Festival, Avicii‘s health concerns quickly became public domain. Now beyond gall bladder surgery, months of canceled performances, and “The Days,” the Stockholm-born star has finally opened up about his health decline.

In an interview with Billboard, Tim Bergling said, “I took a month off, but it wasn’t really a month off. I was in the studio 12 hours a day, and then went right back to touring. It’s hard to say no in this industry. You want to play everything and be everywhere.” Realizing the value and importance of the occasional break, Avicii has turned that rest into his newest single and the debut release from his upcoming studio album. “I’m going to try to slow it down. Taking a break was the absolute best thing I’ve done. I’m doing better and better.”
