Laidback Luke shares full Ableton Live project session for ‘Stepping To The Beat’

Regardless of whether you enjoy his music not, there’s no denying the role Laidback Luke has played in helping aspiring producers. From his official forum to his frequent feedback on email and Twitter, Luke has always been conscious of the next generation of artists.

Teaming up with cloud-based music collaboration platform Splice, the Dutch DJ has open-sourced his entire project file for recent single “Stepping To The Beat.” By examining the file on Splice, you can find out everything from the layers of his drums to the plugins used on the track. This kind of unparalleled access — made even easier by Splice’s DNA player — is something that could only happen in the modern production era. Apparently for Luke, it’s only the beginning as well. He said of the collaboration: “Very much into starting this up with Splice and starting to share my projects with you!”
