SoundCloud pays tribute to the fall of the Berlin Wall

From signing a deal with Warner Music Group to turmoil with NMPA, the buzz surrounding SoundCloud has been astronomical lately. This weekend, the German-based company paid tribute to their home country by hosting a seven and a half minute track consisting of sounds acoustically representative of the fall of the Berlin Wall twenty-five years ago. Partnering with Grey Advertising for the art project, every detail about the track is symbolic of the wall. For instance, the length of the track is representative of how long it takes sound to travel the entire wall. Every comment is a tribute to one of the 120 victims that died at the wall. The track itself is a hauntingly eerie montage comprised of gun shots, aircraft, German soldier’s radio conversations, and barking dogs. View the memorial on the front page of SoundCloud.
