Chemical Brothers announce new album and live show for 2015

Few electronic acts have the power to corral the entire music sphere like The Chemical Brothers do. From serving as one of the pioneers of the big beat generation, to forging one of the most awe-inspiring live shows in history, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons are dance music royalty.

In a recent interview with Sónar, Rowlands revealed some fantastic news: The Chemical Brothers’ eighth studio album will be officially released next year. Rowlands said of the project: “I guess the most important feature of the album is that it connects with us emotionally in some way. We hope for finding a new way to make you feel. We dream of new sounds and different frames. We have worked with some guest singers but mostly the album is pure Chemical Brothers.”

What would a new Chemical Brothers album be without a captivating live show to go along? Recently announced as the headliners for Sónar 2015 in Barcelona, the duo have already been preparing for the June performance: “We are working on the staging of the live gig at the moment,” Rowlands told Sónar. “Adam (Smith) has some amazing ideas. The show will be an intense ride, hold tight.”

On top of this, the duo have also announced upcoming performances at Orange Warsaw Festival and SonneMondSterne Festival in June and August 2015 respectively. Along with Sónar, these are the first Chemical Brothers live dates since 2011. The only question left… when will they be coming stateside?
