Diplo does something different on ‘Long Way Home’ collaboration

You know him as Mad Decent‘s ship helming, block party rocking, mayhem maker. He’s one half of Jack Ü, one third of Major Lazer, and hands down one of the hardest working producers across the entire music industry. He is Diplo, and he wears many hats. And although his output is marked by rump-shaking hits like “Biggie Bounce” and “Express Yourself,” Diplo won’t be held down by one single genre, as proven on his latest, “Long Way Home.”

Wes’ newest cut is a collaboration effort alongside Grizzly Bear’s Edward Droste and Vampire Weekend’s Rostam. Diplo has stepped away from his norm before, remixing Droste’s band in the past, and now Wes is following up with a moody, down-tempo piece called “Long Way Home.” The track is lyrically soothing and distant, working in the various styles of each of the three contributors’ in perfect harmony. The tune comes as a futuristic spin with a contemporary, chilled-out appeal, proving Diplo can do much more than just twerk-primed party starters.
