Serendipitously arriving at the same time as Electric Zoo‘s announcement to return in 2015, a ghost of festival’s past has finally received closure: Patrick Morgan was indicted of a narcotics charge that subsequently lead to the death of 23-year old Jeffrey Russ at 2013’s Electric Zoo. On December 11th, Morgan officially pleaded guilty to his one count of narcotics distribution.
Billboard reports that the prosecution agreed to a “stipulated sentencing guideline range,” which suggests that Morgan will likely serve less than a year in prison on a charge dealt up to 20 years. His sentencing is scheduled for March 13th.
