Knife Party get honest for Reddit AMA

A few days ago, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen of Knife Party took to Reddit to answer fans’ questions deep into the night for an AMA (Ask Me Anything). Chatting until almost 6:30 in the morning local time, the Australian pair answered questions, addressed comments, shared their desire to someday DJ on the moon, and even decided they would consider making a jazz album some day “just to piss people off.”

When the conversation took a turn towards the taboo topic of ghost production, Knife Party initially didn’t want to “open that can of worms,” though later on Rob answered with tact: “I think the people who USE ghost producers are…well…a fucking joke, but I have lots of respect for Vorwerk and the other ghost producers themselves.”

The boys of Knife Party went on to discuss the amazing time they once had DJing on a private island in the Maldives, how much they love “404” from Abandon Ship, and a completely candid answer on how Pendulum’s new album is coming along (or not). In regards to the latter, Swire had some choice words for fans: “It’s been nearly 5 years since the last Pendulum album – even if we do release new material, it will most likely sound completely different, just because…well, people change, and get bored of things, etc. I have no real desire to make drum’n’bass anymore.”
