Coachella marks the final Gesaffelstein Live performance

A black and white aesthetic, individual beams of light, French techno — anyone that has experienced Gesaffelstein‘s live spectacle readily comes away with excitement regarding the unique feel but relentless energy that the innovator provides during performances. Head down at all times, Gesaffelstein chain smokes his way through sets, crafting his tracks one sound at a time from the front of a modest stage setup. Unfortunately, it appears his current string of performances, along with his Gesaffelstein Live show, is coming to an end with his set at Coachella.

It took only three words — “Last Gesaffelstein Live” — on the artist’s Facebook to send a shockwave through his fan base. While it is certainly upsetting to see what has become one of the few unique electronic experiences at festivals and clubs across the world come to a close, the world eagerly awaits to see what steps the artist will take next. Granted the time and freedom to explore new musical and artistic direction beyond his critically acclaimed Aleph album, Gesaffelstein will close out the current performance experience with his slot at Coachella, and it is certainly a must-hit for any attendee.
