Coachella Expands: New clothing line with H&M, partnership with Alabama’s Hangout Music Festival

It was only days ago that Coachella revealed its 2015 lineup — one that will see the highest percentage of electronic music acts in its history. Kaskade, Axwell Λ Ingrosso and Porter Robinson are just a few of the nearly 70 artists bordered within the electronic and EDM categories, totaling to about a 50% presence across this year’s festival.

But the major announcements don’t end there. Coachella has subsequently inked two strategic deals. One with Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama and another with Swedish clothing company, H&M. The former, a partnership in which Coachella promoter Goldenvoice will contribute to the production of Hangout Music Festival, marks the it’s latest move toward nationwide expansion as the festival circuit continues to mushroom.

Coachella’s partnership with retailer H&M will further catapult music events across the globe into the realms of festival fashion. “H&M Loves Coachella,” so the forthcoming collection has been dubbed, will be sold at 350 stores in North America starting on March 19, and worldwide/online on March 26. During the festival this spring, a pop-up shop in the H&M tent will showcase exclusive merchandise along the lines of crochet tops, rompers, graphic tops and crop toms for women, and t-shirts and shorts for men. Staying true to their historically affordable prices, H&M has sought to work even closer with one of the nation’s most highly accredited festivals.
