deadmau5’s ‘Strobe’ has long been considered Joel Zimmerman’s magnum opus.

The 10-minute epic, released in 2009 on his fourth studio album, ‘For Lack of a Better Name’ is a timeless classic. For any true deadmau5 fan “Strobe” drums up nostalgia for a simpler time — and perhaps a better one — for electronic music and its culture. A time before EDM became synonymous with pop music and big brands sought to tap into the latest US trend.

With little information other than a simple tweet from the mau5 himself, it appears that diehard fans can expect to hear a new, 20-minute version of the era’s defining track.

And that’s good news for anyone with a set of ears. Especially if you are heading to the Guvernment’s final show where he will likely be debuting the rework in its entirety.
