Jay Lumen – You Know EP

If there’s anything Jay Lumen knows better than most, it’s how to build a techno track with the sole intention of setting off a dance floor. His recent EP, titled You Know, doesn’t waste any time beating around the bush; you’ll find no unnecessarily long intros or lingering build-ups on either of its two sides. The title track is a dark and dramatic no-nonsense driver that lays the bass line heavy over an ominous and distorted voice that growls, “baby you know” with sadistic glee. On the B-side, “Resurrection” picks up the pace and keeps the rhythm moving across seven minutes of big room techno. The EP is out now on Octopus Records.
