Damian Lazarus announces new artist album, ‘Messages From The Other Side’
Damian Lazarus is one of the more fascinating DJs you’ll come across in the industry. There’s an eccentricity to his entire persona that bespeaks a life of worldly travel and never-ending cultural curiosity. He’s a wizard behind the decks plain and simple, but more than that, it’s the open-minded philosophy inherent in everything he does that has attracted such an international following.
The brains behind the success of Crosstown Rebels, Lazarus has announced his new album Messages From The Other Side from his artist project Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons. We got a taste of the venture last summer with “Lover’s Eyes,” but now the full scope of the LP has been revealed. To create the album, Lazarus has teamed up with some truly interesting individuals. While his primarily collaborator has been producer James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco fame, he’s also linked up with Egyptian percussionist Hossam Ramzy, jazz pianist ELEW, and vocalists Ali Love and Moses Sumney (among many others).
The 14-track album is due out on May 18 via !K7 and Crosstown Rebels. Title track “Message From The Other Side” is available for streaming ahead of the release.
